ChickenChips started with a simple frustration: most advice about dog treats is either marketing in disguise or so hedged it’s useless. We wanted a place that reads the back of the bag, feeds the treat to actual dogs, and tells you the truth - including when something isn’t worth your money.
How we work
- No sponsored picks. We don’t take payment to recommend a treat. If that ever changes for a specific piece, it will be disclosed clearly at the top.
- Tested at home. We buy treats at retail and feed them to our own dogs before writing about them.
- Plain English. Real numbers over adjectives, and a clear answer before the back-story.
- Not veterinary advice. We’re a blog, not your vet. For anything about your dog’s health, allergies, or calories, talk to a professional who knows your dog.
Who writes it
ChickenChips is written by Jodi McKitrick, who tests treats on her own dogs. Jodi McKitrick is a dog mom and writer in Ohio who has spent a lifetime around dogs. She tests every treat on her own three - Stella, Ivy, and Piper - and reports back on what actually works and what to skip.
